Opening Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for gathering us today. We are grateful for Your love, mercy, and faithfulness. As we open Your Word, prepare our hearts to receive what You want to teach us. Help us to understand what it truly means to put Jesus Christ first in every area of our lives. May Your Holy Spirit guide us, transform us, and lead us closer to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Introduction
In today’s world, we are constantly faced with competing priorities. Our careers, finances, relationships, responsibilities, and personal ambitions often demand our attention. While these things are important, none of them were ever meant to take the place that belongs to Jesus Christ. As believers, we are called to place Christ above everything else. He is not meant to be only a part of our lives—He is to be the center of our lives. When Jesus becomes our highest priority, every decision, every relationship, and every opportunity is viewed through the lens of His will and His purpose. Today’s message is about learning what it means to truly put Christ first and how doing so transforms every area of our lives.
Christ Is Worthy of First Place
Colossians 1:18 tells us, “He is the head of the body, the church… so that in everything He might have the supremacy.” Notice the words “in everything.” Christ is not asking to be first only on Sundays or during moments of worship. He desires to be first in our homes, our workplaces, our businesses, our conversations, and even in the private thoughts of our hearts. When Jesus is first, our priorities begin to change. We seek His wisdom before making decisions.
